I am making progress on the series of paintings inspired by barns of the Midwest. I have sketched ideas from my own photo references gathered throughout my travels across the Midwest. The paintings range in size from 6"x12" up to 36"x48". Some pieces such as the sketch depicted to the left include moons which relate back to my series inspired by the Farmer's Almanac and the Rural Superstitions and Astrology Series; and others feature a sky with layers and layers of paint building up slowly to get to a rich and pleasing variation of color. I will be releasing the entire series together later this spring so look forward to a burst of new paintings all at once!
